PH2. Efrem Angela
Psychotic Monks Klikofest, 2020
This a standard print on a mat 180 g/m² paper, unlike on the Kodak Pro Endura mat 250 g/m² fine art print this paper doesn't claim its colours can last a hundred years.
Efrem Angela is originally from Aruba but is now living in Amsterdam. With his snapshots he captures the culture off and around skateboarding. E.A.: “Skaters are the most patient people I know. Funny how a big part of it is sitting on the ground and waiting for your friend to land the trick 🕛🕝🕗”.
Efrem works a lot with highly contrasted B/W photography with a heavy grain. The same technique that for decades has been used by Japanese street photographers to capture the rawness of Tokyo’s subcultures.
